per, scan the drawing, and then continue building color, texture, and atmosphere digitally. I've been thinking a lot about character development—not just how a character looks, but how they hold themselves, what they care about, and the small relationships that begin to appear on the page.

Character development for a new picture book sample. I started with pencil sketches on paper, scanned them, and then brought them into Procreate to explore color, texture, and the feeling between the characters.

I tried bringing another picture book illustration to life ☀️ the kind of scene that feels ordinary until you realize you’ll probably miss it later
