I tried bringing another picture book illustration to life ☀️
the kind of scene that feels ordinary
until you realize you’ll probably miss it later
per, scan the drawing, and then continue building color, texture, and atmosphere digitally.
I've been thinking a lot about character development—not just how a character looks, but how they hold themselves, what they care about, and the small relationships that begin to appear on the page.

Character development for a new picture book sample.
I started with pencil sketches on paper, scanned them, and then brought them into Procreate to explore color, texture, and the feeling between the characters.
A little peek at Mizu’s evolution across the pages.
I love watching a character shift from one moment to another — the same child, but with a different breath, mood, and light each time.
