One year and 3 months into the Bomba-Warczak lab… and we’re celebrating our very first PhD candidate — Tristan!
Couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations!! 🎉

Not all tissues are alike when it comes to NAD+ #metabolism, and our speaker Eija Pirinen knows all about it...
This thursday, usual time and place.
See you there?
🚨 Our lab is hiring postdoctoral fellows in two different areas of research: (1) mitochondrial biology and (2) reproductive science. Postings are below, and you can visit bombawarczaklab.com to learn more about what we do!

Really thrilled to have our work on mitochondrial presequence strength out today @jcb.org. We establish quantitative parameters to better define "strong" and "weak" presequences both in vitro and in vivo. This work was spearheaded by the ever talented Youmian Yan, a BBSB graduate student in my lab.
MITOchats are all about early career researchers and - of course - mitochondria! Join us tomorrow for three short talks delivered by Julia Riley @joulesriley.bsky.social, Eleonora Stronati, and Joan Blanco-Fernandez @joanblanco.bsky.social. See mitotalks.org for zoom link.
Travelling to the future again. This thursday, we will be nosy and learn about mitochondria and their friendships.
In case you overloaded mitochondria and peroxisomes during your holidays, know that they are talking about it... and our speaker Peter Kim overheard the conversation.
This thursday, usual time and place. See you there?
Yan, @ianofbristol.bsky.social, @nieminm.bsky.social et al. define quantitative parameters underlying the strength of mitochondrial-targeting presequences, and demonstrate that yeast require strong presequences to facilitate select metabolic pathways in #mitochondria. rupress.org/jcb/article/...
See you all Thursday at MITOchats!! @mitotalks.bsky.social @mito-news.bsky.social @mitowomen.bsky.social @mitoworld.bsky.social
