I think 3 is gonna be enough for me to go ahead and peel this guy off. Now we just have to wait for it to dry enough and remove it from the board.

we did the peel! (and a bit of a trim)
it stayed relatively flat - enough I think i can work with it and refine it to be flat. I'm overall very happy with our progress so far!
now just to refine and sand, add a few more layers with color, then final sand and polish.

What a day. Haven’t stopped since 5am, gardening, shopping, helping at my lovely late wife’s Parkinson’s choir tea party, finally eating at 8pm. The day passed in a blur. I feel dizzy, much as I did when trying to capture this #BlurBee on a Lavender plant.

1. this will not lay perfectly flat against a wall.
2. it doesn't have to.

this is some volume forming y'all! I can't tell you all the secrets [cause I gotta be mysterious] but I basically make all the volume on these from strips of newsprint and wood glue.
