🚨 Standing Stone Shoutout 🚨
I’m currently in the early stages of designing a new creative practice piece for Practises Make Places & I need your help
Do you have a local, or regional word(s) 4 a standing stone? Not a name e.g. Long Meg, but a general word e.g menhir
This isn’t restricted to the UK🙂
Love the colours and the font on this vintage sign for the Glasgow Sound Centre in the Anderston Centre in Glasgow. It also has the old 041 dialing code for the city, which was replaced with the current 0141 code on the 16th of April 1995.

Because the current project requires me to make 13 full size amphorae, I've had to make drying space in the tool room/materials store. 🏺⚱️And, I've made a special drying rack for the narrow necked ones like these Camolodunum 186As and London 555s. #Archaeology #AncientBluesky
#StandingStoneSunday The Whispering Knights, turned to stone by a witch along with a King and his men who became the nearby Rollright Stones, depicted on this cover by M. Maitland Howard, for the 1970 Shire guide to Discovering Regional Archaeology: the Cotswolds and the Upper Thames.

At the newly opened Egtvedpigens verden. There's a Bronze Age themed playground!
Omg. This wonderful album came out a THIRD OF A CENTURY AGO!

A new blog post has landed, exploring compulsion, boundedness, and new ways of delivering complex ideas 🙂

My suspicion has long been - and confirmed by this research- that Stonehenge articles pass through the peer review process far more easily than they should.

So here we go. Headlined by most media (but not all, see below) as “Wow, we never knew a stone at Stonehenge came from Scotland, and now we know it got there in a glacier”, this story began today with a press release from Curtin University, Australia 1/20
