Still going strong! Presenting "Gustav's Hand" with @johansjoberg70.bsky.social at the annual conference of Svenska Arkivförbundet.
Another fabulous master's workshop! 13 theses by second-year students, and 17 thesis proposals by first-year students.
The beautiful thing with history is that the more you learn, the more difficult the questions become.
På onsdag den 27 maj kl. 13 gästas högre seminariet i agrarhistoria av Kirsi Laine från Åbo. Hon kommer presentera sin forskning om torpare i sydvästra Finland 1760-1920. Mycket välkomna! (Zoom-länk I bilden).

I fucking love Van Eyck.
They have a replica of the Ghent Altar piece in its original side chapel so you can see how much they'd painted it for exactly that spot. Adored pointing out the way the light falls to visitors when I was a tour guide there. I didn't catch the reflection in the 3 mm gem 🤯

18thc trunks for paper. Just two of many in my files.
One of these I'd been waiting decades to see. It's in the VMHC exhibit Un/bound and belongs to the Madden family. An 18th c ancestor of this free black family kept her freedom papers +more. Wasn't discovered in an attic until the 20thc.
A please @labouruk.bsky.social, stop saying that it's up to us to stop Reform. YOU could stop a Reform government in 2029, by introducing the proportional representation so many in the country have been clamouring for. The only way Farage can win is through our crazy first-past-the-post system.
