Not sure if @ersatzben.com post much on here, but yes that would be a very sensible use of the SPRE statements.
If instead of faffing about trying to score institutional & UoA-level SPRE statements in the midst of large-scale structural changes and redundancies, we used SPRE to undertake a Domesday Book survey/mapping exercise of research infrastructure, collaboration, publishing etc we'd have these data. 2/2
