A realization hit me last night.
Three of my favorite video game characters have tragic storylines. They're also associated with the color blue in some way, and the color blue is associated with sorrow.

Hello Pop'n on the konami python!
Saw this and started tearing up a little. Fever was my first arcade Pop'n game and I'm still heartbroken that I missed my chance on getting the old cabinet I played on a couple times.
You just brought back a ton of happy memories for me :)
