Anna von Hausswolff’s ICONOCLASTS continues her journey between art rock, gothic atmospherics, drone, and contemporary composition, but does so on a larger scale than much of her earlier work. The pipe organ remains central to the album’s sound, though it is now accompanied by synthesizers, guitars, bass, drums, percussion, saxophone, clarinet, strings, and electronics, creating a dense ensemble sound.
