Happy Bloomsday to all who celebrate!! ULYSSES was my grandfather’s favorite novel, & for many years it was mine, & I still find great joy in it. No book (imho) better captures the messy magnificence that is a city: the squalor & the beauty, the teeming multitude of bravely struggling souls.
Never pass up a chance to share this story. There's always someone who hasn't heard it, always someone waiting to experience the joy of reading about it for the first time.
Most filmmakers take no (meaningful) risks and have nothing to say. Boots Riley is the opposite. I LOVE BOOSTERS was wild and fun and a mess, and while I don't think it came together as well as SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, I think you should see it.
