A LAN party in 2002 wasn't a real LAN party until somebody broke out a case of Bawls. This stuff tasted like bottled Skittles. It was delicious.
And the first Quake was originally intended to be a game featuring the main character, Quake, to be wielding a giant hammer, not a bunch of guns. Quake was the name of a character from Romero and Carmack's year's long D&D campaign.
This is in my basement right now and it makes me oh so happy.
31 years ago today, the Sega Saturn made landfall in the US. To this day, it is still one of my favorite consoles.

One of my favorite parts about repairing arcade machines is being able to pull out at least a little bit of carpentry skills on it. My Daytona USA machine had a broken corner when I got it. Instead of using a bunch of Bondo, I just cut the thing and made a replacement. It turned out decent!
