I love when genre authors play with tropes instead of going along with just using them uncritically. Now you know why I love Pratchett’s Discworld as much as I do, and why certain elements of ASOIAF are very much my shit (I mean, trope-fucking is only one aspect of it). If not, listen now 😌

Our focus is on Arya and Sansa, but we mention more, and especially @radiowesteros.com’s great Quaith theory that they presented in their latest episode, with added thoughts by @hexaegon.bsky.social because… who doesn’t like more thoughts on GRRM’s use of tropes as caches?
Back when @girlsgonecanon.bsky.social were covering Arya, I got an idea for an essay that I wanted to write. I commissioned artwork from @dr3adlady.bsky.social to go with it. I never ended up writing that Arya essay, but I used the ideas in this episode! So we figured we’d share the lovely art too!
