Does anyone have a photo of the Sussex Spotted Sandpiper/s I could use for a presentation please?
Why are @brighton-hove.gov.uk doing work on elms on a warm sunny day with temps expected of 17 degrees in the middle of the bird breeding season?! The rest of the week will have temps of 18 to 19 degrees. Scolytus scolytus could well be flying then, so this cutting could be SPREADING ELM DISEASE.
It was great to meet you too Erica! I really enjoyed those two hours.

Ideal for beginner recorders!
A very impressive looking male Ozyptila scabricula, collected as a sub adult a moth ago right at the edge of a friable cliff slip near Land's End. A pretty identical situation to where I had it with @graemelyons.bsky.social on the Lizard in April. @britishspiders.bsky.social
Ynys Wyllt visit yesterday produced some cracking spiders Arctosa leopardus and a Trochosa female which might be spinipalpis, but will probably just be terricola after 🔬. Only 1 previous spider record for site. @britishspiders.bsky.social @tylanberry.bsky.social @graemelyons.bsky.social
