We have to be real here about what we want the future economy of Scotland to look like.
Do we want an economy that puts workers and communities first with a real just transition?
Or do we want an economy that's just several oil and gas companies in a trench coat?
As recently as the 2014 independence referendum, oil was the lead economic subject in debates over the constitution. In recent years oil has mutated into a regional interest and jobs issue instead of a major macroeconomic one. Thatās a major political outcome of North Sea decline. š§µ

Scotland should be a leader in community and municipally owned energy, but we've been left behind the rest of Europe.
Workers in Scotland deserve a transition that's not simply left up to big corporations. We need an actual industrial strategy featuring significant public-ownership, not privatisation!
