On headcount, overtime, incarceration, and low-level arrests, Tisch appears to be bucking the Mayor’s purported criminal justice reform agenda.
Platner is obviously way better than the alternative, so the calculus of overlooking all this bad stuff he has done makes enough sense. What's unsettling to me are the group of ostensible lefty personalities gloating about this overlooking as if it's actively good, or even part of the appeal

Claire Valdez led on the fight against genocide from day one, when it was a huge political risk. Antonio Reynoso didn't even *talk* about it until he was running for Congress years later. We need people who will lead when it's tough, not people who sit it out until those leaders make it safe.
