On 28th June 1905, the university coat of arms was granted by the College of Arms. It features an open book with gold edges with the Latin inscription Disce Doce (‘Learn and Teach’), the Crown of Success, the White Rose of York for the county of Yorkshire and sheaves of arrows 📖👑🌼🏹
