I think a skill we should all cultivate in ourselves (including me!) is the ability to celebrate wins while acknowledging that there is much work to be done. We can't wait to celebrate until a total victory because those don't exist. We have to be able to celebrate the gains we make along the way
You can signal "good stuff over here" with rules, but you can't solve for players being assholes via clever rules mechanics.
Do not try.
If someone says you should or can, they're full of crap. If they say a game is flawed because it didn't solve for players being assholes, they're full of crap.
Btw this is why we should have universal health care. Not being locked into a job because of health insurance would be rocket fuel for entrepreneurship.
