Such a pleasure to welcome Roser Vento Tormo @sangerinstitute.bsky.social to the LMCB seminar series @lmcb-ucl.bsky.social
I have looked up to Roser since our university years in Valencia where she was a year ahead and I had to keep looking higher as she became a single cell superstar ⭐️

And if anyone forgot their pens, I’ve got you covered! I found a surprise one in my pocket and it’s paw patrol themed. Can’t beat that.
This entire thread it's like an exhibition of beautiful science images. I have to say the evo-devo crowd really beats us all. Gorgeous!
First paper from the Kebschull lab is out!
Excited for the next few days full of developmental biology at Roscoff. Typical weather and great views

An upside of not de-cluttering more often is that I found this amazing schematic from when I was sketching the figures of my first postdoc paper.
How it started ⬇️How it ended

Spectacular Developmental Biology Jacques Monod Conference in Roscoff. Thanks to @bardinlab.bsky.social and @lionlchristiaen.bsky.social for putting together such an exciting scientific program. And the setting was incredible too, with a beautiful sunset to end the meeting.

POINTseq, now out in Neuron after peer review. Read it. There are barcodes, viruses, and dopamine. Congrats to @hyopilkim.bsky.social on leading our lab's first published paper!
Our latest: Minimal essential requirements for neural tube self-organisation
How does a single cell give rise to a tissue with the right cell types in the right proportions?

The reliable generation of diverse cell types in precise proportions is essential for the formation of functional tissues during embryonic development. Three-dimensional organoid models derived from p...
And so it began. The CNRS Jacques Monod Conference 2026 #CJM26 in beautiful Roscoff kick started masterclassfully by Marianne Bronner on the development and evolution of the vertebrate neural crest.

Kim et al. introduce POINTseq, a high-throughput barcoded connectomics method for mapping brain-wide single-neuron projections of a specific cell population defined by common viral-genetic tools. Applying POINTseq to mouse midbrain dopamine neurons reveals diverse connectomic cell types and stereotyped collateral wiring patterns that may underlie distinct dopamine functions.
