it's basically the number one rule to any medium ; you can't just tunnel-vision and pigeon hold yourself into a corner. that niche may feel comfortable but it's stifling and prevents you from seeing "the bigger picture" in any sort of artistic/cultural context

I remember an interview that happened A SINGLE DAY after the vote. Vividly. A young woman spoke of her parents, both proud voters for Brexit. The vote result came in on the radio and she watched them both look up, suddenly with great clarity say: 'This isn't going to do anything for us, is it?'

My absolute favorite thing right now is world cup fans visiting from different countries and experiencing American culture shock. Some great examples were a Japanese man losing his mind over free chips in a Mexican restaurant and two British guys at a Buc-ee's trying the fresh BBQ brisket.
Must feel so amazing right now to be a Vietnamese man in NYC named Nicks Nguyen and hearing the whole city chant your name
It’s absolutely standard in American entertainment to reject the authentic chirpy whistle of a bald eagle and sub in the red-tailed hawk’s robust commie scream
