FINAL: The Las Vegas Aces cruise to an easy 92-73 victory over the Golden State Valkyries. 5 Aces players scored in double figures, Jackie Young led the way with 21 points. A'ja Wilson (19 points), Chelsea Gray (15 pts), Jewell Loyd (14 pts), and NaLyssa Smith (14 pts). #WNBA
The Golden State Valkyries went 5-30 FG from 3-PT range. When GSV hits their threes they can beat anyone in the league. When they don't, the offense can look ugly. Today, it was the latter. #WNBA
Credit to Azurá Stevens for taking questions about that Chicago Sky loss. She talked about how they can't control what the refs call or don't call. Stevens said there was contact on the final possession where she tried to score on the putback, but said she was too close to the rim to miss that shot.
The Seattle Storm lost their 10th game in a row. I wrote about how their defense looked surprisingly out of sorts against the Mercury, the challenges of having a young team w/ a rookie head coach, and the outrageous ending to the Sky/Wings game. #WNBA www.stormchasersbasketball.com/p/storm-lose...
It's all Aces in the first half of this game. Las Vegas leads Golden State 50-30 at the half. They outscored the Valkyries 27-13 in the 2nd quarter and finished the period on a 21-2 run. Jackie Young leads LV with 13 points. #WNBA
