East Portland: This weekend, June 13, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the proposed Moda Center renovation, connect with City leadership, and tell us exactly what you expect in return if we do make any public investment.
The future of Moda is our community’s decision to make.
These engagements will happen this weekend. The two D4 events will be on Sunday at noon in Sellwood Park and again at 3pm in Tom McCall Waterfront Park. I have been one of the councilors calling for a public process for a long time. This is the start of that. Also, here’s a survey.

Be heard, collaborate, and share ideas—make meetings and classes more engaging with real conversations.
The City will be hosting “pop-up” engagement events in each district for members of the community to speak directly to City Councilors on the topic of remodeling the Moda Center. I’m disappointed there was less than a week’s notice for this, but I hope you can find the time to show up.
Better Portland is hosting a coffee meetup at Matta Café Bar in the Pearl District on Friday at 9 a.m. to discuss support for small businesses and how to strengthen our local economy. Join us.
Don’t miss this opportunity to tell councilors what you think about using public dollars to remodel this stadium. I’ve also asked for public comment opportunities at our future work sessions, which will occur in early summer.
