part of it i think is that a lot of my characters are adventurers and "lack of opportunity" is a flexible and open ended motivation
i keep using "born in a poor and/or isolated community" for backstory i should probably branch out
i will not stand for "larp" becoming the new "poser". there is nothing in this world that requires more genuine unbridled passion in the face of people calling you a total nerd than live-action roleplay
it is really important to be loud about this stuff because it's typically kept very quiet to enable people to go "See? Nothing happened, it was just people being dramatic"
