I'll only share one thought on all of this-

What sort of end can he have but the inevitable and just conclusion of being torn apart, living only long enough to see what once was inside him sucked from his body and feasted upon?
Soon.
Never mind that its about war, and depression, and survivors' guilt; never mind that its about suicide and hate and violence; mental breaks and long recoveries; about how you CAN'T heal while still young-- No on page sex scenes and less than one profanity per page? Young adult.

Did you all know that Lord of the Rings is considered YA?
Apparently, a/ya is not about the themes or "heaviness" of emotion, but about tropes and pg-R ratings.
So my book maybe isn't adult after all, cause there are no sex scenes, and ONE character is 18.
