You want to know why there are hungry kids in this country? Why there are homeless vets in this country? Why the road in your neighborhood isn't fixed...? Right now that answer is Elon. The US Dollar isn't infinite, and he's holding a substantial amount of it.

If someone spent $1,000 per SECOND, it would take them 30 years to spend $1 trillion. There's absolutely no reason why one person should hold this wealth, and there are no reasons why the law should allow it. I'm all for capitalism, but there just has to be a ceiling created by taxes.
I think Trump didn’t want a “fall of Baghdad” type image (akin to the Saddam statues coming down) that would make him look weak.

There are a lot of ponds, especially in Florida/Georgia HOAs and golf courses, that use copper to control algae and because a pond is a "natural system"; it creates a lot of problems. These places flood and the copper gets into the watershed, etc... EPA should jail people for that, imo.
Someone said another option for the DC reflecting pool was to destroy it and rebuild it like the OKC National Memorial reflecting pool. True, that pool is easier to manage, but it's only about as deep as a fingernail. From the air it looks like a pond. A lot of birds die while doing "hard landings".
I don't know why I was dreaming "California"; cliff jump in dream was used by film studios a lot. And I did work on a major film's safety team several years ago and there was skydiving in it; but my job was related to pyro/explosives. Still.. that's all I got. The brain is a weird a thing.
I had an absolutely insane dream about skydiving and a 11K foot cliff jump near Los Angeles that clearly doesn't exist. It should exist. Now I'm mad. But, I think that dream is a sign that it's time to go do some skydiving. It's been almost a year since my last jump, which is nuts.
That is probably it.
The best solution for those in the South is to stop trying to make water features look like a glacier lake. If they want to see that, they should move back home to Minnesota. Don't mow around the edges of ponds. Leaving 10-ft around the edge gives it a natural filter to keep it healthy.
