I've spent a few years telling a friend of mine that he needs to read the Eclipso ongoing, and he always counters "Well, I need to read the event first!"
No, you really don't, it's a 90s event where a few issues matter and most don't, but that ongoing series that spun out? Totally worth it.

Eclipso jumped into his own brief series after this, which also had The Creeper in as a foil, and a lot of Giffen and Fleming's work here is setting that up. It's an event which might well have been better as just the first arc of that book (but then nobody would have bought it!) /end
