Had a very similar experience a few years ago with Frontiers in Pol Sci:
- reviewers automatically invited, incl over Xmas, in mass
- very aggressive policy of fast turnaround - unrealistic & damaging quality
- absurd amount of reminders
- quantity over quality mindset
I now refuse to review for F
