Prototype improvements 🦾
This week, we’ve refined the prototype (collisions, interactions, movement) and integrated the shaders for the piano and particles. We’ve also taken on board feedback from the initial pre-tests, leading to several adjustments.
Meetings at industry events 🤝🏼
We were lucky enough to attend the NewImages Festival and Laval Virtual, which gave us the chance to meet professionals from the digital arts and VR sectors and keep up to date with the latest industry news. You can find two dedicated posts on our LinkedIn page!
Audio-reactive shaders ✨
We continue to create audio-reactive shaders using Visual Effect Graph for sound objects, which we are gradually integrating into FMOD objects. We also attended an event for TouchDesigner, a key piece of software for developing an installation-based version of our game.
Solution found for texturing 🖌️
After several unsuccessful attempts at texturing to achieve a painterly look, we opted for Substance Painter. This software offers better compatibility with Unity, fast processing and great flexibility in rendering.
Creating voice-overs 🗣️
An initial draft of the dialogue was written to kick off the pre-testing phase. The voice-overs were recorded in the studio and then integrated into the prototype, with triggers tailored to the different stages of gameplay.
3D modelling - work in progress ⌛
Modelling work is continuing on the turntable and the MP3 player, with a few necessary adjustments to the scale. Modelling of the cassette player is also underway.
Devlog #8 Initial tests & improvements ⚖️
This week, we look back at our visits to various trade shows. Development of the project is underway and the first pre-tests have been carried out.
