Interesting to see the reviewer comments here which mirrored some of my own initial thoughts on the abstract. "Creativity, serendipity, and discovery" in questioning and interpretation are good things, while opaque, unreported "exploration" in methods is bad. Preregistration/RR addresses the latter.
