Expanding the very machinery of detention, deportation, and militarization that has already cost lives and torn families apart. This bill now heads to the president's desk for signature. The passage of this bill marks a dangerous escalation — a deliberate choice to invest in cruelty over care.
Despite the passage of this bill and increased funding for cruelty, we will continue to demand investment in the care that makes all of our lives possible. We will not stop fighting for an end to the detention, separation, and deportation of immigrant families, workers, and communities.
