Companies trying to embargo layoffs and closures might be the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen in my 16 years.
The Authors Guild are in partnership with an AI Licensing company. They're trying to funnel members to this company in the guise of 'earning more' from their books. But even if an author is paid for a 3 year licence, their books are in the meat grinder for good. There's no way to extract titles.
