Score graphs looking like LIP neurons with the opposite decision preferences 😅
And really curious what you make of the lack of NAcc FC stimulant effect, seems like another (fun?) piece of this complicated puzzle 🧩
Curious how you get at the idea of misalignment? Fully on board that the precision rsfc is showing us valuable detail like never before, and that patches are a meaningful scale! But the size, location, extent, and boundaries of cyto areas in lPFC is a huge debate, so a lot depends on these borders
but that is just one scale of cytoarchitectonics, there are of course multiple and there's really cool evidence for patches and mini-columns in lateral PFC... so a lot depends on the cortical layer, areal definition, etc, which is hard to glean form just one population cyto atlas
Really interesting! Wondering how these rsFC differences would play out in a task selection or distractor resistance setting. E.g., cool work from @seanfw.bsky.social showing cortical dopamine is critical for that in whole brain models, especially in PFC: doi.org/10.1016/j.neuron.2021.08.024
Curious what you think of the Barbas lab proposals that cyto and connectivity are deeply related? E.g., feedforward and feedback connections based on cortical types. Seems to be a nice unifying idea of why both matter in different ways and are related evolutionarily, etc: doi.org/10.1007/s004...
As called on Miami Spanish radio:
Kudos to the Brown University students who are posting continuous live updates, spaced just minutes apart, on the campus shooting. A lot of grace and professionalism under immense pressure.
