this is not to be confused with the later ld from japan video distribution / jvd, which is a lot of fun in its own right (albeit for highly dubious reasons)...
curious to confirm or deny whether the new 'day of the dead' 4k from shout! is in fact pushing the japanese theatrical 'zombieing sound' stereo mix (preserved on toei's '86 ld) as the only og audio option. if so... what a fanciful new way they found to screw up 'day' on home video.
...though the old toei laser is fun, goofy stereo mix and all. video is awful, well below the standards of the time. if someone told me they mastered this from some high school kid's bootleg tape copy, i might well believe them.
