In order to protect themselves from inbound missiles and drones, countries such as the UAE and Iran put up a GPS/GNSS jamming shield in order to redirect such threats. In doing so, GPS receivers onboard each vessel's AIS transponder gets affected; resulting in clusters.
Since the fall of the Assad regime in #Syria, the country has received at least 29 million barrels of crude oil from #Russia in exchange for allowing Russian military installations to remain in place.
#Cuba currently lacks that kind of leverage over Russia.

A small vessel is seen burning in today’s (2026‑03‑28) S2 satellite imagery. The vessel is in the anchorage of Bandar‑e Lengeh, Iran, at 26.55288, 54.91136. The fire was first detected by satellite last night at 23:29 UTC, which was 02:59 local time today.
