That's the Visible-Zorker edition of Infocom's original mystery game, Deadline. I had a bunch of fun diagramming the NPC navigation logic on the map.
A quick note on IF tools: we're making MP3 a first-class audio format for Blorb. And thus, *eventually*, for Inform 7.

One thing I note is that the protagonist exists beyond the world of their game. They have a family, a backstory. Anecdotes. This isn't a thing many Infocom games afford, at least not in such detail.
