CinemaCon, which gathers actors to preview films for theater owners, has an “awards” show in which speeches are expected to be polite moviegoing remembrances. But in 2022 and IIRC 2017, De Niro spoke in frank, harsh terms to that audience about lies, moral rot. I think about those speeches a lot.
