New video: hands on with Huawei's two new phones for the global market
youtu.be/IkhzN7uqkcw?...
Man what happened to them bluesky animations when you opened the app 🫠😢
Because the F1 was hailed as the "value king", with the pressure of it's successor to be the same, people were disappointed when it launched at twice the price of the F1. Other than that this was a complete package and people didn't realize it then.
Why I would change the rear sensors:
The sensors used on the X200U for 14mm and 35mm are identical - since there's a large camera bump anyway might as well stuff those good sensors in
Also more versatility (0.6x with sensor crop at 1.2x, 1.5x with sensor crop at 3x, better zoom quality past 5x too)
I'm looking VERY FIRMLY at you, Xiaomi, Oppo
Phones you probably forgot about part 4 (or 3 idk): the Poco F2 Pro
The spiritual successor to the F1 after silence from the brand in 2019, this packed a solid camera setup, a flagship processor, and a pop up selfie camera. it was a good phone. Unfortunately (1/2)
How I'd modify the S26 edge:
- Plastic back (or glasstic as Samsung calls it, makes it lighter)
- MINIMALLY 4,500mAh Si-C battery
- Change the rear sensors to the 14mm and 35mm sensors of the Vivo X200 Ultra (I'll explain more below)
- anti reflective coating
If you ask me, if they re-release this with a 120Hz display with 3840Hz PWM, SD 8 elite, UFS 4.0, a 50MP 3x telephoto instead of the 2MP depth, HyperOS 2 on Android 15 with 4 years of software updates and a 6,000mAh battery and I will buy it even if it bankrupts me.
Phones coming out with android 14 in the great 2025 is just headache inducing especially when android 16 is slated to be released 6-7 months from now
