While the linked post is a bit hyperbolic, we need to know & accept that humans are like any other species: non-stationary. Humans are inherently migratory -short or far reaching. Now it's considered amoral, disdained, even highly politicized. This is against our very nature as living beings.
Kudos for authors defining what they mean by 'agency', an ambiguous term. Usage in any biological context makes me cringe. It's overused, usually with no explicit definition in specific contexts.
