I curated a (mostly) exhaustive list of Juneteenth celebrations across the country. Chances are there’s one near you!
The social internet got turned into a giant dopamine farm by a handful of companies who literally hired the same psychologists who design casino floor layouts, and the policy-makers just threw up their hands and said "guess we better ban kids from using the internet then"
Obama shouts out "those ordinary people in the Twin Cities who braved frigid temperatures, risked their own safety, standing shoulder to shoulder to look our for their neighbors and sometimes for strangers because they knew that was the right thing to do"
It’s been five years since Alex Jones lost InfoWars to the Sandy Hook families. As the verdict came down, he asked: “Do these people actually believe they’re getting any money?” He hasn't paid them a penny. Well, The Onion is going pay them anyway. The new InfoWars begins July 2nd at 8 p.m. ET.
Advocates for students with disabilities fear that moving special education out of the U.S. Department of Education will undermine support for vulnerable students.
This move will be devastating for families. RFK Jr. shouldn't be in charge of your kid's classroom. Students with disabilities need education experts at the helm - not a dangerous charlatan like RFK Jr.
Everyone this man has hired has a name that you would make up in a panic at an improv show.

No, it's because only 3.1 percent of the Dutch population live in poverty as opposed to 20 percent of the British population. The Guardian really needs to stop publishing irresponsible lifestyle crap as news. (The Avondvierdaagse is a nice tradition though.) www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Juneteenth marks the day when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. I curated a list of events and one may be near you!

The Onion’s staff is tired of waiting for the courts to settle its pending takeover of Alex Jones’ brand, so the new Infowars will launch next month.

The Onion says it won’t wait for the courts, will launch Infowars to pay Sandy Hook families

Civil rights enforcement, special education oversight will move out of education department
The Trump administration is further gutting the Department of Education and undermining special education and civil rights. Every student deserves a quality education, not chaos and uncertainty. This is a reckless decision that could hurt some of the most underserved students.

Once a year, Dutch kids, parents and teachers take part in a walking festival, heading out for four nights in a single week to explore their neighbourhoods, exercise and make friends. It’s a tradition...

Dutch children are unusually happy and healthy. Is it because of the Avondvierdaagse?
The reflecting pool is actually a great metaphor for tough civic problems that evade easy fixes, the risks of ignoring experts, and the allure and hazards of contracting out a fix and calling it a day.
social media that's bad for minors is obviously bad for adults too. crazy to me that the move seems to be to just accept that and ban minors rather than regulate the obvious design patterns that were put in there on purpose which make it harmful to its users
