Stephen's great-grandfather Martin has a secret: he was once the hero known as Spider-Man!
Er, maybe...
Peter, living under the assumed named Martin after retiring from superheroics, alternates his time between an assisted living facility and helping his granddaughter with her teenage son, looking more and more the picture of Uncle Ben after stepping into a similarly unexpected father figure role.
"Spider-Dreams" sees Peter continuing to live out his credo that "with great power must also come great responsibility" by stepping up as best he can to the role Martin's father abandoned, but doing so not just as obligation but in the spirit of playfulness and joy Uncle Ben modeled.
Peter gets the life he dreamed of but with the accompanying losses and continuing unexpected struggles that brings, and he rises to meet those challenges as best he can, just like Uncle Ben did.

The man asked "Why?"
