Hunter-Gatherer Studies has a long intellectual history. For this special issue, lead by the indefatigable & inimitable @ceciliapad.bsky.social & @haneuljang.bsky.social, we will be taking (critical) stock of that history by fostering inter-generational dialogue between early- & late-career scholars
The first set of commentaries are out on our the MTH article. Taking the time to highlight @ceciliapad.bsky.social on the sidelined importance of seasonality to diet and behavior! Just the sort of discussion that it's nice to inspire.

"Man the Hunter" is often conflated with Dart's "killer ape theory"; A pity because, though imperfect, the MTH conference was a departure from previous Hobbesian colonial Hunter-Gatherer narratives.
In this new Target Article we map out some of that intellectual history.
