On this date in 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy (NY), moments after claiming victory in California's Democratic Party presidential primary, was shot. He died the next day. He was 42 years old.
This was RFK at his home, Hickory Hill, in McLean, Virginia, a month earlier.
