When the budget for these games is in the six figures, of course you don't want to make anything risky.
At least consoles have a healthy indie market going, so that there is always a challenger in the wings. Movies are dying because unlike games or literature, access to indie movies isn't as easy.
I am absolutely going to sew that tapestry though - that is perfect for some needlepoint shenanigans.
I played this game every day for nearly 5 years, I wrote MULTIPLE fan fiction about this game, and I've played pretty much every console Zelda game since.
So when I say that I do not want a remake of this game, this is coming from a place of love. This is not for me.
