The gripens will be so important as a new capability for the Ukrainians — and in particular, it gives them a tool to stop the Russian glide bombs. The sooner the better.

Ukrainian pilots have begun training on the JAS Gripen:
"The Gripen will show up in combat when the Russians least expect it," says Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat, "and will serve as a 'long arm' to push Russian fighter jets back from our borders."
