Amazing really to think just how much trouble Tommy Robinson or Farage would be in if they had called for people to sit down peacefully or spray paint a lawn to protest climate change.
I understand that what happened in NI has more to do with the presence of loyalist gangs in Belfast than general anti-immigration sentiment, but I also understand that unlike similar incidents in the past it is being fed into a broader far-right narrative in the rest of the UK.
English commentators need to stop analysing Northern Ireland through an English lens!
When you see anti-immigrant riots in Belfast, Ballymena or Larne and immediately reach for "Britain's far-right problem", you're missing half the story.
This isn't just racism. It's loyalist terrorism.

Roquepertuse has a fascinating #history that includes an Iron Age hillfort and a #Celtic community and shrine, where early forms of barley beer were made. The #hillfort dates to ca. 300 BC, with a fortification wall enclosing some 1300 square meters.
