How is Burnham going to get the civil service to do what they are told without civil servants going to the BBC to say they are being bullied? They were obedient under Blair, Brown and Cameron, but not since then. Too many Gen Z who "don't believe in hierarchies" ?
Every day in US news is the same: Ten horrifying and dumb things happened today. Only five of them would have horrified the framers because they were all racist. Trump capped it by doing or saying something even dumber than those 10. and repeat
it's true that the US Treasury can print money to service the debt, and US is moving to fiscal dominance at least, but the bigger risk for bondholders is Trump simply refusing to leave office. That's taxation without representation so there will be a tax strike, and US govt will have no income
I'd say Burnham has until Christmas 2027 to fix things, but even that seems optimistic. He might only be given until November before everyone is moaning about him.
Well, I don't need to freshly assert that South Yorks Police was corrupt over the grooming gangs scandal there, because our next Prime Minister has already said it w.r.t. something else. I maintain that if you let psychopath drug dealers get rich, they will inevitably be able to buy off cops.
Evolution of US Iran policy, irony edition
BBC: we must save £500m! Also BBC: let's interrupt the days programming and transmit live rolling coverage of a train journey from a helicopter
Trump longs to be the Ticketmaster of the strait of Hormuz. Trump crime family using taxpayer money to take over Iran so they can "charge a little fee" [Trump's words re tariffs] indefinitely, to every ship.
Not saying compromise is just bad in politics, or this scenario. My position is that ALL compromise is universally bad. It's the main reason life sucks. bsky.app/profile/snab...
