the main problem with changing PM again is that there will be another reshuffle. more ingenue ministers will be at the mercy of their manipulating civil servants. the agenda will slow down even more. the change we need will get even slower. we have to keep a PM for more than 5 years.

Growth could be huge. It won't stop people caring about border security. In fact it will only encourage more arrivals. The real solution to the overpopulation that blights daily life is to crash the economy. Huge negative growth would be quite popular, I think.
People keep saying "stopping the boats will be very expensive." yeah, probably, but a good 20% of the country is happy to put huge chunks of GDP into solving that problem.
