The crows brought their new fledglings to the feeder today! They were so cute, and so loud. The parent crow was looking pretty irked by the persistent begging. 😹
All three fledglings look happy and healthy, if still a little awkward.
Serious answer: because their vision of masculinity comes with a hierarchy, and part of how you establish and defend your place in the hierarchy is to enforce the "rules" of masculinity while punishing others for being insufficiently masculine.
