Today two 3rd year students have the pleasure to make some PMe3 in their advanced inorganic lab course! Good job. @likat.bsky.social #31P
Happy to see this fun project with @kretschmerlab.bsky.social out.
Two gallium centers in close proximity led to some unexpected outcomes.
Thanks to everyone involved and congrats to the team!

Some very elegant double-bond metathesis chemistry allows access to a phosphorus(III) telluride completing our collection of phosphorus-chalcogen double bonds.
TIRE CHANGE: First Mg(I) complex with a Cp* ligand enables facile ligand exchange. Reaction with RONa gives (BDI)Mg-MgOR and Cp*Na. This paves the way for syntheses of many new asymmetric Mg(I) complexes. @angew_chem onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10....

Unusual coordination chemistry & reactivity: the methyl #bismuth dication shows a pentagonal pyramidal coordination and can be turned into a Lewis #superacid. Read more about Johannes', @taminazk.bsky.social, and Bene's work in @angewandtechemie.bsky.social: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...!

The simplistic methylbismuth dication has been captured only by the aid of monodentate tetrahydrofuran (thf) ligands, [BiMe(thf)5]2+. The hexacoordinate species shows a very unusual pentagonal pyrami...
Happy to see our joint work with @hering-lab.bsky.social on Gallium/Group 15 Heterocycles that we dedicated to Manfred Scheer on the occasion of his 70th birthday
published. Congrats to the team and many thanks to @dfg.de for funding.

The ambident reactivity of the bis(gallylene) is demonstrated by the reactions with azobenzene and the triphosphirane (PMes)3, which give rise to a bis(spirocyle) and a 1,2-diphospha-3,4-digalletane,...
We describe the synthesis and isolation of a phosphinidene telluride. This species acts as a versatile phosphinidene transfer reagent accompanied by the extrusion of elemental tellurium.
We report a high-yielding synthesis of a novel diazadiphospholenium cation featuring a sterically exposed, reactive P [[double bond, length half m-dash]] P bond. It displays aromatic properties and gr...
