I felt for the poor guy who worked at the resort and had 6 people telling him he was wrong especially when it turned out that we were.
Embarrassingly I just *tied* for first because I couldn't think of a song that debuted in Mexico even though I had literally written about one the previous morning.
The 2026 Seattle Mariners:
This reminds me of the time I did Phish trivia with some friends during quarantine with someone who didn't know who I was and by the middle I was correcting the answers.
I bet that's why I never get the invitation to the group chats.
"What month did Page first start playing a grand piano with Phish?"
The experts all smugly agreed on Feb 93 and when we were told we we wrong and it was the following year, we were mad. It wasn't on the card 93 was the *baby* grand and the full one didn't come out until fall 94.
I feel like bluesky is split between Poasters and Chatters. The former get in a lot more heated discussions and know all of the memes and the main character of the day and all of that.
I'm a chatter. I want to talk about what's on my mind and hear from my friends.
I queued it up in Apple Music and I kind of like it. It’s a collection of (mostly melancholy) instrumentals with weird titles. Good job Zzyzx from 2002 or so.
Although the Phish trivia in Mexico the time I did it was great. They had a well rounded series of questions so basically each team ended up being headed with someone like me but they also had easier ones for the rest of the team.
There was one that almost caused a riot though:
Years and years ago, apparently I discovered an album called Whatever You Love You Are by a band called Dirty Three. This was so long ago that I put their cd on my Amazon wishlist as that’s the only way I could hear it.
I had long forgotten about it, but I got pinged that it’s back in print.
