My new favorite hobby is panicking to get to the airport on time, arriving at the last second, and then discovering the flight has been delayed by hours.
I’m in a hotel room for the next month and it has TCM. Last night I was watching and a full on promo for my book came on; hearing your name on cable television is absolutely surreal, especially coming on after a movie exclusively about Michael J Fox undressing in elevators.
The film John Dillinger broke cover to see at Chicago's Biograph Theater on July 22, 1934, enabling Hoover's G-men to fill him with lead when he left. Legend has it that Dillinger was a huge Myrna Loy fan; historians say Dillinger was escaping a heat wave and went for the AC.
